Volunteer Opportunities

We are currently seeking individuals to join our volunteer team and help shape the next chapter of the Duluth Armory. Whether you're interested in music, gardening, history, events, youth programming or just want to get involved in Duluth, there's a place for you at the Armory.

Volunteering at the Armory is a chance to be part of something meaningful, get creative, and have fun along the way!

Fill out the form below or reach out at info@dulutharmory.org for more information.

Tours & Hospitality

Are you an Armory history buff? Want to make a fashion statement in a hard hat and high-vis vest? Guides will learn about the building’s architecture, military history, legendary performers, and future plans for the building. We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic people who enjoy meeting others and sharing stories.

Music & Youth Programs

Our Music Resource Center is looking for volunteers to help with special events, workshops, guiding students, lesson management, instrument maintenance, and supporting our staff during programming. It's a great way to get involved if you love music and enjoy working with kids.

Events

Join us at our events! We need several individuals or groups to support special events throughout the year. Event Planning volunteers will work alongside the Armory team to research the local event market, identify opportunities, and execute and coordinate creative programming that brings people through the doors.

Armory Ambassador

Help spread the word about the Duluth Armory and build excitement for its next chapter! Armory Ambassadors are enthusiastic community members who help introduce others to the Armory, share its story, and grow awareness of the exciting things happening now and in the future.

History & Memorabilia

Uncover the stories that make the Duluth Armory special! Volunteers will research the military, performances, events, and community moments that have shaped the Armory over the past century. Dig into archives, help identify pieces to display, and contribute research that will help tell the Armory’s story to future generations. If you love history, research, storytelling, or discovering hidden pieces of Duluth’s past, we’d love to have you join us.

Arts & Creative Programming

Help bring the Duluth Armory’s history to life! Arts Club volunteers will work on projects that celebrate the building’s history and make its stories accessible and engaging to visitors. Projects may include a rotating art installation, researching & designing merchandise, brainstorming gift shop souvenirs, and helping develop pieces that can be displayed throughout the building.

Garden Club

Help make the Armory beautiful from the inside out! Garden Club volunteers will help care for and develop the green spaces surrounding the Armory, while also caring for plants and natural elements inside the building. Projects may include landscaping, gardening, planting, seasonal maintenance, and creating welcoming outdoor spaces for visitors. The Garden Club is a great way to help shape the future landscape of the Armory.

Furniture Restoration

Join a team of crafty, creative, and history-loving people working to bring the Armory’s past to life! Help us find period-appropriate furnishings, décor, and other pieces that fit the Armory’s historic character, then restore, repair, and refresh them for use throughout the building. Whether you love hunting for vintage treasures, refinishing furniture, or simply enjoy working with your hands, there’s a place for you on the team.
